Properties: This product is a light yellow transparent liquid, boiling point 124℃ (760mmHg), decomposition temperature 76-77℃. Insoluble in water, soluble in most organic solvents.

Specific gravity (25℃) 1.036-1.045, refractive index (25℃) 1.495-1.500.

Main decomposition products: tert-butanol, benzoic acid, methane, acetone, ethane, benzene, etc.

Uses:

1. high pressure polyethylene (LDPE) excellent medium temperature initiator, mostly used in the tube or kettle process, can be used with the initiator tert-butyl pivalate peroxide, tert-butyl 2-ethylhexanoate peroxide, initiator tert-butyl neodecanoate peroxide and diisopropylbenzene hydrogen peroxide, etc. together to form a composite catalyst system, polymerization effect is better.

2. In the styrene suspension polymerization process, the initiator TBPB and benzoyl peroxide (BPO) used in combination, is the most commonly used initiator of styrene or styrene copolymers.

3. In the polymerization process of acrylates with initiator TBPB instead of azo initiators, reducing the toxicity in the resin. It can also be used in the polymerization reaction of vinyl acetate.

4. It is a high temperature curing agent for unsaturated polyester. The product is widely used in the curing process of unsaturated polyester such as FRP, coatings, adhesives, such as SMC, BMC, DMC molding process, this product is the curing agent for high temperature curing of unsaturated polyester, the molding and pultrusion molding are very ideal curing effect. If and BPO, TBPEH and other initiators to form a compound initiator system is more effective.

5. is a good vulcanizing agent for most rubbers (except isobutylene rubber).
